WLTI is a wilderness experience that demonstrates and teaches how leadership should be deliberate, careful, and loving. It is about learning to utilize every experience in life as an opportunity for spiritual growth and development. The principles learned are applicable to any ministry environment. For many, these experiences are the most powerful times of life-change and transformation.
College and graduate credit is available for WLTI by completing certain academic elements of the program.
THE PURPOSE - To provide an opportunity for you to focus on your leadership strengths and weaknesses while in a learning environment with others who are in ministry positions. WLTI is conducted in a wilderness classroom. The goal is to teach and demonstrate how a wilderness experience can provide dynamic spiritual growth in individuals and further develop leadership that is committed to serving Jesus Christ.
CURRICULUM - Based on biblical examples of leadership integrated with an actual expedition that raises real issues, which in turn demand real answers. The principles taught are taken directly from Scripture and are applicable to any program that seeks to glorify God.
THE LEADER - Norm Hoyt, Adventure Ministries Director at Camp Forest Springs. Norm has extensive wilderness ministry experience, a bachelor’s degree in biblical literature, and a master’s degree in educational ministries.
