Prayer Chapel
In 2006, long time friends of camp Russell and Lorene Walton started talking with camp about their interest in building a Prayer Chapel for camp.
Over the next few years, plans were considered and various sites were evaluated. Finally, in the fall of 2008, construction was begun on a small hill just to the north of Spruce cabin, overlooking James Lake. Adding to the beauty of this location was the fact that the primary view from this chapel looks west to glorious sunsets and our own Sunset Hill.
Work was completed in May 2009 and the building was dedicated, with Russell and Lorene present, in June 2009. Camp is extremely grateful for the generous giving of the Walton’s in seeing this chapel become a reality.
In April 2010, God chose to take Lorene home to be with Himself, but not before she had the privilege of praying in the chapel herself. Lorene was truly a woman of God who believed in the power of prayer!
